In 2014 Paramount Safety required more space across the board i.e. office and warehouse. The rapidly growing business needed to make some fundamental changes to how it delivered its product including providing direct warehouse access and being able to separate visitors and trucks.

William Bird discovered Northlink Industrial Park and said “For the price it was a better return than our previous location i.e. more bang for your buck or more land for our money spent.”

He said “The estate has great access to ring road networks which was a major decision driver.”

Paramount Safety and Workit Clothing are wholesale providers of Personal Protection Equipment to a range of businesses including the mining industry.

“What we liked about Northlink was the opportunity to set out the building design how we wanted it plus, working with Raine & Horne Commercial (WA) and Linc Property, we were able to change the land frontage and lot to suit our build requirements exactly.” Mr Bird said.

Northlink Industrial Park has allowed for the present and future growth of Paramount plus the locale which faces the natural bush offers a unique view which is an added bonus for the staff.

Mr Bird can see industrial estates like Northlink becoming hard to find in the next decade: “Supply and thus affordability will become a barrier to entry. Perth’s  population growth and environmental hurdles will affect the cost to deliver and develop industrial land to the market – so buying within 20km north of CBD will be seen as rare.”

With businesses like Paramount choosing to reside in the greater CBD area Mr Bird believes there’s a bright future for estates like Northlink. He believes they’re likely to become more gentrified and master planned to incorporate services such as childcare, health, recreation and work/life balanced.
